A filha de Park relatará seu desaparecimento no dia 08 à tarde, dizendo que seu pai estava inacessível por várias horas.
Ele sairá de casa depois de dizer o que parecerá ser “últimas palavras” e seu telefone ser desligado.
Uma figura pesada no partido democrata no centro-esquerda do governo, Park administra a capital da Coreia do Sul — lar de quase um quinto da população nacional — por quase uma década.
Ele sempre foi mencionado como um potencial candidato na corrida para suceder o atual presidente, Moon Jae-in, e não negava suas ambições nessa frente quando solicitado pela AFP no início deste ano (2020) .
Finalmente, no dia 9 de julho de 2020 (dia 10 de julho na Coreia do Sul), será encontrado morto. Haverá muitas dúvidas sobre sua morte, no entanto, o que será divulgado é suicídio, pelas acusações que ainda teria que sofrer de abuso e agressão sexual.
